Upon arrival, we meet our skilled mule team, indispensable companions on this mountain adventure through the Moroccan High Atlas Mountains.

The trek begins with a gradual ascent, with breathtaking landscapes stretching out before you. As we climb, the trail eventually leads us to the majestic Takht Pass, which peaks at 2,000 meters above sea level. Here, you will have the opportunity to stop and enjoy the breathtaking views, with the village below serving as a stunning backdrop to the rugged terrain. This first stop is the perfect time to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the High Atlas, enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings, and marvel at the intricate details of the village nestled among the mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech – Asni- Imioughlad – Col De Tacht – Tizi Oussem (1950m) :

From Marrakech, we drive for an hour and a half to the village of Imi Najlad, the starting point of our journey into the High Atlas Mountains. Meet the team of muleteers and start the journey with an ascent to the Takht Pass at an altitude of 2000 meters. Enjoy a well-deserved break and take in the breathtaking views of the village below, before continuing the easy descent to the water source where we will have lunch. After about an hour of disembarkation, we will reach the village of Tizi Oussem, where we will spend the night.

Day 2 : Tizi Oussem – Col De Mzik – Imlil – Marrakech :

After leaving this charming village, we climb through a forest shaded by cliffs to the Mazik Pass. Two hours after landing, we enjoy breathtaking views of the Imlil Valley and find ourselves surrounded by its lush terraced orchards. Lunch is served in the shade of the large walnut trees before the return to Marrakech.

Climate: From 15 to 25 during the day and from 10 to 15 at night.

Season: End of March to November.

Day 1 : Marrakech - Asni- Imioughlad - Col De Tacht - Tizi Oussem (1950m) :

Stop at the UNESCO World Heritage village of Aït Ben Haddou, a historic Kasbah that has proudly placed Morocco on the map of global cinema, alongside Egypt, India, and Hollywood. Take some time to explore this iconic fortress and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, recharging for the adventure ahead.

Continue through the oasis town of Agdez, renowned for its unique tagine-shaped architecture and its rich history of heroic resistance against occupation. Drive along the lush Draa Valley, famous for its endless date palms and fortified Kasbahs, a landscape that perfectly blends nature and history.

Arrive in Zagora and meet your camel caravan for a memorable one-hour camel ride, watching the golden desert sands transform under the setting sun. As evening falls, transfer to your Sahara Desert camp, settle into your private Berber-style tent, and explore the surrounding dunes.

End the day with a traditional Moroccan dinner under a sky full of stars, accompanied by the rhythmic sounds of nomad drums around the campfire — a truly authentic Saharan experience.
