Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Asni – Imi Oughlad – Tacht Pass – Tiziane (1950 m)

After breakfast, depart Marrakech at 8:00 AM for a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Imi Oughlad, where your Berber guide and mule team await.

Your trek begins with a beautiful ascent to the Tacht Pass (2200 m), offering splendid views over the valley. After descending to a flowing stream, enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch before continuing gently toward Tiziane, where a cozy lodge in the village will host you for the night.

This first day (approx. 5 hours of hiking) is ideal for connecting with Berber communities and experiencing rural life up close.

Day 2: Tiziane – Téouti Pass (2400 m) – Tkent (2150 m)

Start early to make the most of the cooler hours. The climb begins under the shade of majestic walnut trees, with a stop at the Tiziane sheepfold to refill water (filtered water recommended).

The trail continues through a refreshing juniper forest before reaching the Téouti Pass (2400 m). After a descent to Assaka for lunch, follow the path to Tizgui, renowned for its traditional architecture and historic water mills.

Overnight in a charming Berber guesthouse.

Day 3: Tkent Valley – Tougdalt Pass (2700 m) – Tizi Oussem (1950 m)

After a 7:30 AM breakfast, today’s trek begins along the foothills of a towering 3,600-meter peak leading toward the Tazaghart plateau.

A steady 2.5-hour ascent brings you to the Tougdalt Pass, offering spectacular, panoramic views of the High Atlas. From here, descend through a thick juniper forest toward the enchanting Azaden Valley.

Lunch is served under ancient walnut trees by the river—one of the most beautiful spots in the Toubkal region. Continue onward to Tizi Oussem, where you will spend the night with a local Berber family.

Day 4: Tizi Oussem – Mzik Pass (2450 m) – Imlil – Aremd

Begin your day with a 600-meter ascent to the Mzik Pass (2450 m). Enjoy breathtaking views of the Azzaden and Imlil valleys before descending into the fertile Mzik Valley (1750 m).

After lunch in a shaded terrace under walnut trees, continue your trek toward Aremd, the largest village in the Imlil region. Spend the evening in a welcoming Berber guesthouse, enjoying authentic local cuisine and culture.

Day 5: Imlil – Aremd – Sidi Chamharouch – Return to Imlil – Transfer to Marrakech

Your final day begins with an easy and scenic walk along irrigation canals and terraced fields. With the help of a mule, we ascend gradually to the sacred pilgrimage site of Sidi Chamharouch (2290 m), situated near a waterfall at the foot of Mount Toubkal.

After exploring the area (non-Muslims may view only the exterior), return to Imlil for lunch. In the afternoon, transfer back to Marrakech, concluding a memorable 5-day adventure in the High Atlas.
